Reef to play Dreamland in Margate after releasing Revelation, their first album for 18 years

Fans of Reef are a patient lot. After the band’s fourth studio album Getaway in 2000, the laidback West Country chaps took 18 years to cook up their next.

Revelation is the revitalised quartet’s first studio album since then, and their first with new guitarist Jesse Wood - the son of The Rolling Stones’ Ronnie Wood - as well as the first with new label earMUSIC.

After Place Your Hands hit the charts in 1997, they’ve been busy with albums - including the platinum-selling No. 1 Album Glow - which led to them taking a break in 2003.

Popular on the festival circuit - they’ve played the Vicar’s Picnic and Wheels and Fins in the county in recent years -now they’re back with a sound which mixes everything from hard rock to R&B, soul and blues. Their new album has been produced by long-time collaborator George Drakoulias and features a guest vocal from Sheryl Crow on the lead single, My Sweet Love. Recorded in Ireland, they’ve worked on the songs for more than two years and now they are heading out on the road to test them out.
