The Beach at Leeds Castle is set to open for the early May bank holiday weekend

A historic castle is opening its very own man-made beach for the summer.

The Beach at Leeds Castle will be up and running for the very first time this bank holiday weekend, with guests welcome to throw down their towels and soak up the sun until the end of September.

The beach, which is included in the price of a Leeds Castle entry ticket, features purpose-built bays filled with golden sand where visitors can relax during their time at the castle.

Children are also welcome to bring their own bucket and spade to play with on the sand.

The beach is land-only, meaning those who want to dip their toe in the water might be better off heading to the coast during the summer holidays.

However, there will be views overlooking the castle’s lake from your spot on the sand.

The beach itself is located opposite the maze and grotto, which aims to give families a fun, fully-rounded day out with lots of activities for children all in one place.

You can bring your own towel or beach chair to sit on, and there will also be a number of deck chairs supplied.

You can book your entry tickets for this summer online here.

The Beach at Leeds Castle will be open daily from Saturday, April 29 until Saturday, September 30.
