How to sign up for this year’s Christmas Jumper Day on Thursday, December 8

It’s that time of year again, where we dig out our Christmas jumpers from the back of the wardrobe to help raise money for charity.

Christmas Jumper Day, in aid of Save the Children, takes place in December and encourages people up and down the country to dress up in their favourite festive outfit and raise money for a good cause.

The money raised from this year’s Christmas Jumper Day will help mums and children in Kenya where, every year, 74,000 children die before reaching the age of five. Donations will also be put towards helping vulnerable parents and children around the world.

Since 2012, the annual event has raised more than £27m. This year, the government has also promised to double every donation of £2.

To take part, all you need to do is sign up online here. You can then create your own JustGiving page where friends and family can donate, and you will receive useful resources from JustGiving to help you with your fundraising.

Then, simply wear your favourite Christmas jumper on Thursday, December 8 and donate your team’s fundraising on JustGiving any time, or via the Save the Children website.

The charity is also advising people to be resourceful and reuse jumpers from previous years, or even make their own by decorating a plain jumper with stickers, tinsel, glitter and baubles.
