Hythe Food & Drink Festival to be held in Holman’s Field

A food and drink festival featuring local, national and international street foods will be returning for a fourth year this weekend.

The free Hythe Food and Drink Festival, hosted by Zoom Events, will be held at Holman’s Field Canal Bank from Friday, July 19 to Sunday, July 21.

The event, which last year attracted 12,000 visitors, will have street foods from around the world and artisan products, as well as children’s entertainment, live music and an arts and crafts section.

Alongside the shopping experience and alfresco dining area, there will be a cake making competition for the first time, cooking demonstrations, workshops for children, and rides.

A live music stage will see artists perform including Rudy Warman & The Heavy Feathers, Miss Holiday Swing and Harripaul.

Handmade street foods include pork or chicken souvlaki, pizzas cooked in a wood fired mobile oven, gourmet burgers, Caribbean delicacies, noodles and sweet and savoury crepes. A range of refreshing ice creams and sorbets as well barista style coffees, hot chocolates and cocktails served from a converted 1978 VW camper van are also part of the mouthwatering offering.

Award winning flavoured waxed cheese truffles, local farm-reared meats, fresh bread and pastries, jams, chutneys, fudge, gourmet cookies and fruit crumbles.

The festival will be open from noon to 8pm on the Friday, 10am to 8pm on the Saturday and 11am to 6pm on the Sunday.
