Woman seriously hurt in crash

THE driver of a Ford Fiesta was taken to hospital with serious injuries early today after she was involved in a collision with a white Renault van on the B2188 at Fordcombe, near Tunbridge Wells.

Police say the woman, from Sussex, lost control of her vehicle and collided with the van which was being driven in the opposite direction by a man who lives locally. He was also injured.

The woman driver was taken to the Kent and Sussex Hospital at Tunbridge Wells.

Police were called to the scene, close to the entrance to the BUPA hospital, soon after midnight and the road was closed while emergency services were at the scene. It was reopened by 5.10am.
