Man cut free from car after lamppost crash in Tunbridge Wells village Langton Green

An injured driver was cut free from a car after smashing into a lamppost.

Firefighters were called to the crash in Langton Green, near Tunbridge Wells, at about 11.35pm yesterday.

Crews spent more than an hour at the scene in Dornden Drive removing the man from behind the wheel of the vehicle.

A fire service spokesman said: "Hydraulic cutting gear was used to remove the door and roof of the vehicle to gain access to the man.

"Together with paramedics the driver was assessed and carefully placed in the care of the South East Coast Ambulance service."

The passenger inside the four-wheeler was also treated by paramedics, after sustaining injuries in the collision.
