High-flyers' quality leaves Angels fallen

Worthing 4 Tonbridge 0

TONBRIDGE Angels suffered their heaviest defeat since September as they were thrashed 4-0 by promotion-chasing Worthing.

Reverting to a 5-3-2 formation, the defence was undone by two goals in five minutes, Sam Francis (8) and Matt Russell (13) on target.

Lee Chiles added a third five minutes before the break as Tonbridge lacked inspiration.

The second half saw a slight improvement but the Angels failed to register a meaningful attempt on goal, Francis helping himself to a second in the 84th minute.

Tonbridge face another stern test on Saturday as Leyton, also vying for a playoff place, are the visitors to Longmead.
