Organisers have said it was “difficult to pin down” the artist, who is touring in New Zealand before coming to Thanet.

Event boss Gerald McCarthy explained: “I saw Belinda perform on BBC1 about five years ago and thought her Whitney Houston performance was incredible.

“I was keen to book her at that point, however, when I found out Belinda and her band weren’t UK-based and she was already touring top venues around the world it was very difficult to pin down a performance in Kent.

“Thankfully her Australian-based agents confirmed in January that she would be able to perform at Quex in July after touring New Zealand and then Belinda is off afterwards to tour the US. – she’s so in demand because she’s that good.”

He added: “If you’re a fan of the late, great, Whitney Houston then this is a real opportunity to see the very best tribute in the business to her.

“Round up your friends, bring along your camping chairs and prepare for goosebumps!”

Gates to the event open at 3pm, with an Abba tribute – Abalicious - opening the show and Belinda taking to the stage at 7pm.
