Police and paramedics called to Northdown Road, Cliftonville in Margate after woman falls from window

A woman was taken to hospital after falling from a window.

Paramedics and police were called to a property near a takeaway and convenience store in Margate on Saturday night.

Emergency services attended the scene in Northdown Road in Cliftonville at 10pm.

It was reported a woman had fallen from a window of a building above the Costcutter shop and Thanet Tasty Chicken near the junction with Ethelbert Road.

A police spokesman said officers attended after the woman "sustained injuries".

Further details about how severely hurt she was have not been released but it is understood not to be life-threatening.

It has also not yet been confirmed if there were any suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident.

A spokesman for the ambulance service said it would not comment on the incident in a private address.

Initial reports by people on social media saying the incident was a stabbing were dismissed by police who confirmed this had not taken place.
