Girl suffers fractured skull in car crash

A TEENAGE girl who was freed from a crashed car by firefighters suffered a fractured skull, a broken wrist, cuts and bruising in the accident.

The 17-year-old was front seat passenger in a Vauxhall Nova that hit the wall at Maurice House Royal British Legion home at Callis Court Road, St Peter’s, Broadstairs.

She is being treated at the Queen Mother Hospital, Margate, for her injuries that police say as not life-threatening.

The driver, a young man from Ramsgate, and two other passengers were treated for shock and bruising. Police say no other vehicle was involved and believe that the driver lost control of the car.

The accident happened shortly before 3.30am on Sunday. (
