Car ploughs through railings in crash on B2054 Madeira Walk, Ramsgate

A driver was taken to hospital after their car ploughed through railings in a crash by a harbour.

The one-vehicle collision happened at 130 pm today on the B2054, Madeira Walk, in Ramsgate.

Footage shows the black car stuck over flattened metal railings in the road near the town’s High Street.

Paramedics, police and firefighters were all at the scene, and the car was later towed away.

The driver was taken to a local hospital as a precaution.

Traffic information site Inrix reports that the route is now clear and traffic is easing.

A police spokesman said: “We were called just after 1.30pm following a one-car collision in Madeira Walk, Ramsgate.

“Officers attended along with Kent Fire and Rescue Service and Secamb and the driver was taken to a local hospital as a precaution.”
