Horse helped out of ditch after getting stuck in Lower Road, near Teynham

Firefighters have helped a pony after she got stuck in a water-filled ditch.

Crews were called to Lower Road, near Teynham, at 8.38am yesterday to help Molly get back on dry land.

As she was small, rescuers in drysuits were able to put a strap around and safely pull her from the water.

A tweet from Kent Fire and Rescue Service said: "Meet Molly - a friendly pony that found herself in a bit of a mare when she became stuck in deep water."

They had left by 9.46am.
