Stella Artois cans and leaking oil drums dumped along Parsonage Lane, Bobbing

Stella Artois beer cans and leaking oil drums are amongst rubbish illegally dumped along a country lane.

The mound of waste, which appears to mostly consist of construction debris, has been fly-tipped in such a way that it is blocking part of a road.

Mick Connor spotted the mess on his morning run along Parsonage Lane in Sittingbourne, just off Sheppey Way in Bobbing.

He said: “I have reported this to the council but I would like to ask what type of scum does this sort of thing?

“If you have had any work done and recognise the rubbish report the people who took it away.

“The oil drums are another story. They’re leaking out all over the place.”

Mick, who lives nearby, says this isn’t the first time he’s seen fly-tipping in the area.

He said: “There are loads of incidents of this sort of thing in the country lanes around the back of Bobbing.

“Since the tips started charging to take domestic waste like bricks and soil I think there has been an increase in it.”

After spotting the dumped load at 9.30am yesterday (September 27) Mick ran into some council workers in a refuse flat back van further up the road and reported it to them.

Swale council has been contacted for further information.
