Nearly 400 of the best young runners from across the borough competed in the tenth annual Swale Primary Schools Cross Country Championships.

Teams from 15 schools took part in four races at Sittingbourne Commmunity College on Wednesday, March 21.

Boys from Minterne Junior School won the year 3 and 4 and 5 and 6 team awards, while both girls’ titles went to Luddenham, near Faversham.

Mayor of Swale Cllr Ben Stokes presented the medals and trophies. He said: “It took courage, stamina and willpower to get to the finish line. I would like to congratulate the winners and all those that took part.”

Cllr Stokes thanked Swale Council’s sports development team and Sittingbourne Community College sports leaders for organising the event.
