The annual Sheppey Donkey Derby rears its head again this Sunday.

Organised by the Sheppey Round Table and in aid of local charities, onlookers will be treated to eight races packed with a different kind of horse power.

The first race begins at 1pm at Sheppey Court Marshes, off Halfway Road, and will be started by guests of honour Mayor and Mayoress of Swale Cllr Ben Stokes and Cllr Sylvia Bennett.

There will be plenty of fun, games and food on offer including a glitter tattoos stall, bouncy castle and a hot dog and burger stand.

Chairman of the Sheppey Round Table Guy Russon said: “Last year nearly 1,900 people went through the gates.

“We are hopeful of a repeat performance.”
