Man charged with attempted murder after assault in Jetty Road, Warden

A man has been charged with attempted murder following a late-night assault.

The attack took place on Jetty Road, Warden, between 10.15pm and 10.30pm on Monday.

The victim, a man in his 50s from Leysdown, was stabbed in the chest. He also had injuries to his head and hand.

He was taken to London's King's College Hospital in a serious condition, but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Lee Simpson, 25, from Romford, Essex, has been charged with attempted murder, possessing a blade and aggravated vehicle taking.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Maidstone Magistrates' Court today.
