Proposals for beach huts to be built along Minster Leas are moving forward.

Last month we reported how Swale council was putting up bases for the RNLI lifeguards, after a change in the way Sheppey’s beaches are manned.

They will be on hand to patrol at Leysdown, Minster and Sheerness and the units have been put up to act as a base for them.

The huts were all installed on Monday in preparation for the launch of the RNLI’s weekend coverage, which starts on Saturday.

Full-time patrolling begins on Saturday, July 13.
