Firefighters called to lorry trailer blaze near Rushenden Road in Queenborough, Sheppey

Firefighters battled a blaze involving a lorry trailer.

Two fire engines were called to Rushenden Road in Queenborough, Sheppey.

Crews wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the flames using main jets.

The fire started at around 6pm and was put out by 8pm.

No injuries have been reported, and the cause is not yet known.

People were advised to close their windows and doors due to smoke coming from the blaze.

A spokesman for the fire service said: “Please share this update with anyone in the affected area, particularly Gordon Avenue and Harold Street, who might not have access to the internet.”
