Kent's Chief Constable is being sued after a woman was shot dead by police 18 months ago.

Ann Sanderson was killed back in June 2007 in Sevenoaks.

Officers shot Ann during a stand-off in a car park, where she was apparently holding a handgun.

It later emerged the weapon was an air pistol.

An inquest into why the 37-year-old was killed has yet to take place, and the results of an Independent Police Complaints Commission investigation are also yet to be published.

But it is reported her girlfriend, who lives in Edenbridge, has now asked for compensation.

Kent Police have confirmed they have received a High Court Claim from lawyers acting on behalf of Ann's estate.
