Geoff's ideal place back home

WHEN Geoff Darrington decided he needed a second home, Kent-based housebuilders PPH were able to help. Mr Darrington had decided to retire to the South of France but he wanted to keep a home in England - one that was easy to maintain and secure, ensuring peace of mind while he was abroad.

He found what he was looking for at PPH's Lingfield Mews development in Edenbridge. It has been designed to echo the Kentish barn style, comprises just four cottages and one apartment and is set around a courtyard.

Mr Darrington said: "I have always been in love with the South of France and wanted to move out there, but I needed a base in England that enables me to be able to close my door for months at a time and be confident in the knowledge that everything will be safe on my return.

"I went into Fox and Mainwaring in Edenbridge to tell them what I was looking for. They told me about Lingfield Mews and it was just perfect. Not only is my new home secure and easy to maintain, it it also close to the local shops and more importantly, my friends and relations. Now I can just concentrate on looking forward to relaxing in France with a beer on veranda." As Mr Darrington bought his home at an early stage, he was able personalise his home. His commissioned a kitchen designer to design his kitchen and the bathroom and is adding glass bricks to his utility room to allow natural light to flood the room.

Two cottages remain at Lingfield Mews, with prices starting from £159,950. PPH is on 01732 743393.
