Thirty seven teams competed for the KM Big Charity Quiz trophy with the Moomins storming to victory with a record 94 per cent of correct answers.

The Ashford heat celebrated its 10th anniversary this year and attracted a small army of organisations to help ensure the event was a success. Volunteers from the Ashford branch of Barclays bank and staff from HR GO recruitment joined volunteers from the Kent Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre and KM charity department to stage the successful event.

Three causes will benefit from the funds raised – KM Charity of the Year the Ashford branch of Guide Dogs for the Blind, the Kent MS Therapy Centre and the children’s road safety service at the KM Charity Team.

As well as providing helpers on the night HR GO recruitment joined Specsavers, Stour Centre, McDonald's and Hallett and Co solicitors in sponsoring the event.

Teams taking part traditionally come up with wacky and fun names linked to their interests or organisation. Ones that tickled event organisers included Atticus Finch and Tequilla Mockingbird from clever legally minded team captains in the hall, and bottom placed Can’t be named for legal reasons.
