There is still time to book a place in history by taking part in our next charity challenge.

The first ever zip wire event to be staged from the top of the historic Dane John Gardens in Canterbury will be held on Saturday, October 18, with places limited to 120 participants.

It will raise funds for the Lady Mayoress’s Charity Appeal, which this year is supporting the Footlights Trust.

Seventy per cent of proceeds will go to the trust and 30 per cent to the children’s road safety charity Kent Walking Bus.

To take part people must pledge to raise a minimum of £75. Event packs can be requested online at www.kmcharitychallenge.co.uk

The KM charity team are able to help readers set up JustGiving pages so they can raise funds via the web and with the added boost of getting the tax man to chip in to the charities.

Extra sponsors are needed to help cover the cost of the professional team staging the event. Parry Law, True Grip Off Road and Robert Mitchell hair studio have already agreed to help.
