Ashley Jackson has joined newly promoted Holcombe ahead of their maiden English Premier League campaign.
The Chatham-born England and GB star ends over a decade at East Grinstead to make the move back to Kent.
Holcombe, who topped Men’s Conference East last season without losing a match, won promotion to hockey’s top-flight after a successful play-off campaign.
He joins a glittering array of talent at Holcombe Park, including GB skipper Barry Middleton.
Jackson, posting the news on social media, admitted the move was tough.
He said: “As hard as this decision has been to make, I have taken the choice to move on from East Grinstead Hockey Club and take on a new challenge.
“I have been a member of “EGHC” since 2003, playing in countless games since, both outdoors and indoors, making life long-friends throughout the journey. I am honoured to have worn the blue and white of EGHC
“As of the 2015/2016 season and the foreseeable future, I will start a new venture with Holcombe HC as they embark on their first season in the English Premier League.
“I am looking forward to working with team-mates old and new at Holcombe HC, contributing to a new team in the Premier League whilst continuing my development as a player.”
