Emergency services in The Brook after a woman was hit by a car
A woman has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car in Chatham.
The woman, believed to be in her 50s, was knocked over in The Brook, near Iceland, just before noon.
Emergency services, including police and an ambulance crew, were called to the scene.
A spokesman for Kent Police said the woman suffered serious ankle injuries in the incident and was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital for treatment.
The road was closed for 40 minutes and reopened just before 1pm.
