Woman dies in hospital after crash on roundabout at Medway Valley Park

A woman who was in a critical condition after crashing her car on busy road in Strood has died in hospital.

The 58-year-old, who has not been named, was left fighting for her life after crashing her car on a roundabout on Monday night.

She was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after her Toyota Avensis hit the roundabout leading to Medway Valley Park, near Cuxton at about 10.15pm.

It is understood she had left the Medway Valley Park area and was trying to get onto the A228 Cuxton Road when the crash happened.

Police revealed this afternoon the woman had died in hospital.

No other vehicles were involved and crash scene investigators are still appealing for any witnesses to come forward in a bid to help them determine how the incident happened.

The road was closed for several hours while Kent Police’s serious collision investigation unit attended and it is understood the woman, who is from Rochester, became unwell at the wheel before the smash.
