Crash on M2 near Strood causes delays

Delays have cleared on the M2 after a lorry crashed into the central reservation in the early hours.

The collision happened on the London-bound stretch near junction 1 for Strood just after 4am, prompting police to close two lanes.

The road had fully reopened by 8am, and queues had cleared by 10am.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called at 4.19am on 11 March, following a collision on the M2 involving a lorry.

"It was reported that the lorry had collided with the central reservation on a slip road of the London bound carriageway, at junction 1.

"There were no injuries and the vehicle has been moved to the hard shoulder."
