An accident involving a truck and a car closed a busy road.

The A289 Wainscott bypass was shut eastbound due to the collision in Medway.

There were delays from the B2000 Lower Rochester Road to the A228 Four Elms Hill at the Four Elms roundabout.

A fire service spokesman said: “Two fire engines attended, and crews made the scene safe. Two people were handed into the care of SECAmb paramedics.”

They were called to the scene at 5.45pm and had left by 7.20pm.

Traffic was heavy in the area in the aftermath.
