Traffic is being held on the A229 following a crash at Blue Bell Hill this morning.

Emergency crews were called to the scene and the road was closed following the incident on the northbound carriageway just before 10am.

Police say they were called at 9.57am to a report of a collision involving two vehicles, and one person has been taken to hospital as a precaution.

Lane closures are in place while crews attend the incident and the vehicles are recovered.

Drivers have been warned to expect delays and advised to avoid the area.
