Police hunt after teenage girl sexually assaulted in car park behind Strood Sports Centre

Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenager was sexually assaulted in a car park behind Strood Sports Centre on Saturday night.

A teenage girl is said to have been standing in Witham Way, when a man she didn’t know spoke to her and took her to a parking area near Humber Crescent, where he assaulted her.

The incident happened between 10.10pm and 11.50pm, and the suspect is described as white, aged in his early 20s, around 5ft7ins, with straight brown hair.

He was wearing a white top, navy blue jeans, a pale pink baseball cap and Nike trainers.

DI Adam Marshall of Kent Police’s Major Crime Unit, said: “We understand there were a number of people at a party in the area that evening, which the suspect may have attended. We are asking anyone who was present and has information that may assist our investigation, to contact the appeal line.

“There are blocks of flats near the scene and it is also thought at least one vehicle entered the car park at the time of the incident. We are asking residents with private CCTV and drivers with dashcam, to check for relevant footage.”
