Air ambulance called after van collides with woman and child in Station Road, Rainham

The air ambulance was called after a van collided with a woman and a child in Station Road, Rainham, this morning.

The road was closed while emergency services attended the scene of the crash, which happened at around 8.30am.

Police attended alongside South East Coast Ambulance and Air Ambulance Kent Surrey and Sussex before the two pedestrians, and the driver of the van, were taken to a local hospital for further assessment.

SECamb said crews had been called to reports a child had been hit by a vehicle.

Ambulance crews were joined at the scene by the air ambulance service, and a child and woman were assessed and treated before being taken to Medway Maritime Hospital by road.

There were reports of delays in the area but the road was reopened just before 1.40pm.

Police officers remained at the scene until around 1.50pm.
