AJ Smith, who will be back in action for the Dynamos this season

Invicta Dynamos have re-signed forward AJ Smith for the coming season.

The 22-year-old has played nearly 250 games for the Dynamos, racking up more than 330 points in the process.

Dynamos head coach Kevin Parrish said: "AJ has been a part of the set-up in Gillingham for a considerable time now and he will continue to be a key figure in our attack as we look to build on the success of the last campaign."

Smith came through the ranks at Dynamos as a promising junior and made his first appearance in the 2002-03 season.

Since then his influence on the side has grown and he played a major role in the club’s grand slam campaign of 2005-06, scoring 70 points.

Parrish added: "AJ has still been able to get among the points and last year his work, changing between the first and second lines, was a key factor in seeing us win the Southern and National titles."
