An accident in a tunnel involving three vehicles caused long delays for drivers.
Traffic was queuing on the Strood-bound approach to the A289 Medway Tunnel.
The tunnel connects Chatham Dockside to Strood and the Medway City Estate.
Police were called at 3.44pm after the accident and attended the scene alongside ambulance crews.
No injuries have been reported and one lane was closed while the incident is dealt with.
The route was understood to have been cleared and traffic back to normal by 6pm.
