Floral tributes have been left at the scene where a much-loved father-of-three was killed in a horror crash with a lorry.

Andy Millward died on Thursday after his black Vauxhall was hit by a Renault lorry which overturned in Station Road, Strood.

Dozens of flowers have been left near traffic lights at the junction with Frindsbury Road following the tragic death.

One tribute said: "You were more than an uncle to me, you were the best big brother I could ever wish for.

"The world is so cruel, I can't believe you're gone. I'll miss your face, smile, the laughs, dancing and times together."

Another, from his sister Selina, added: "I keep asking myself why have you been taken from us in such a tragic accident.

"Love you. You will always be in our thoughts and hearts, sleep tight."

Another said: "To my darling son Andrew, you will be sorely missed. You will always be in my heart."

A message, which appears to be from one of the many people who tried to rescue him, said: "I'm really sorry about what happened to you.

"I'm really sorry me and others couldn't do much else. All wishes to your family."

Passers-by rushed to the scene after the lorry overturned and attempted to clear rubble which had tipped out.

A huge emergency presence including police, paramedics and the fire service meant the road was shut in both directions for hours.

Following the tragedy, Andy, who was in his 40s, has been described by family and friends as a much-loved man.

His mum Freda Law told KentOnline: "My son was much loved. He also leaves his three daughters and much-loved family behind."

A 40-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and inquiries into the incident are ongoing.

He has since been released on bail until February next year.
