A London-based drug dealer has been locked up after a dramatic arrest.

The doors were locked so the windows had to be smashed in order for police to stop the getaway.

Kirlew, 33, and driver and addict Roger Skelton, 52, were arrested and a large number of wraps of crack cocaine and heroin were uncovered from the vehicle.

Two phones were seized and an officer answering repeated calls to them was met with requests for drugs from multiple from people.

A search warrant executed at Kirlew’s home address in Arcus Road, Bromley, later led to the discovery of further drugs, as well as more than £1,000 and a set of scales.

In total 45 wraps of crack cocaine and 19 wraps of heroin were recovered from the vehicle and property.

Both men were charged and appeared before Maidstone Crown Court on Tuesday.

Kirlew pleaded guilty to possessing heroin and crack cocaine with intent to supply and was sentenced to three years and six months.

Skelton, of John Street, Rochester, admitted a charge of possessing heroin. He was sentenced to 80 hours unpaid work and fined £100.

Detective Constable Lucy Macland said: "We have been able to remove a drug dealer who has relentlessly targeted some of the most vulnerable people in our communities and Kirlew would almost certainly have carried on supplying drugs to anyone who wanted them.

"I would also like to stress that it remains important that residents also continue to play their role in helping us keep communities safe, so please remember to always report any suspicious behaviour."
