Chatham man killed in crash involving Ford Kuga and Isuzu D-Max pick-up on A21 at Ebdens Hill, Hastings

A man has been killed in a crash involving a car and a pick-up truck on a major trunk road between Sussex and Kent.

Emergency services were called to the A21 at Ebdens Hill, Hastings, just south of Claremont School, at about 2pm yesterday.

The crash involved a Ford Kuga and a Isuzu D-Max pickup.

A 70-year-old man from Chatham, who was driving one of the vehicles involved, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His next-of-kin are receiving support from specially trained officers.

A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving.

He has been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash to come forward.
