A youth club at the centre of rows with its landlords has tonight been forced to shut.

It is the latest move in a string of arguments over the use of the Brimp in Allhallows.

It is owned by the parish council who closed the building until further notice today amid fears that there might be an asbestos risk.

The parish council management committee ordered an urgent survey following an angry row at last week's council meeting where residents refused to leave at the stance of the councillors.

The building had stood empty for several years after the scouts abandoned it.

Parents and management members worked with the club members to do up the building, but internal rows between councillors have become increasingly vitriolic.

Police have praised the club for the way the number of complaints about anti-social behaviour in Allhallows have dropped since the club was opened.
