Maidstone v Dartford

Maidstone welcome Ryman League Premier Division new boys Dartford to Bourne Park tonight, with joint manager Alan Walker hoping home advantage will help edge the Kent derby.

Dartford go into the match on the back of their best result of the season so far - beating Horsham 4-0 - but it is only their second victory as last season's champions of Ryman League Division 1 North continue to find their feet.

Walker said: "Dartford got a great result against Horsham, who are one of the stronger teams in this division.

"We will be hard pushed to get a result but we are at home and we are in better form than they are.

"Hopefully the Horsham result will not have kick-started their season - it will be tough and we have to make home advantage count."

Walker is without Jay Saunders, who is serving the last match of a ban, while Kevin Watson remains out for at least a week with an ankle injury.

Dartford boss Tony Burman wants consistency from his side following Saturday's victory.

He said: "The game is going to be tough but we go into it on the back of some good results and the confidence and belief is there.”

Burman’s side are currently missing several key players including regular keeper Tony Kessell (groin) which meant a debut in goal on Saturday for Andrew Young who was recently signed from Thurrock.

Young is likely to keep his place in goal. Still struggling with injuries are Richard Ketchell (ankle) and Alex O’Brien (tendonitis) while Jamie Day serves the last of a three match ban.

Steve Norman is expected to keep his place on the bench despite the club confirming this week that he will soon have a hernia operation.
