WALKER: keen to see how some reserve players shape up

MAIDSTONE United will use tonight's Kent Senior Cup, first round tie against Cray at Hayes Lane to assess the form of several of their younger players.

Joint-manager Alan Walker confirmed that Jimmy Bodle and James Peacock were certain to play and there could be others.

He said: "We'll be drafting in a number of players from the reserves to see how they shape up. Mo Takaloo and Nathan Paul are injured while Ben Lewis and Sam Tydeman are suspended so the youngsters will get their chance tonight."

Awaiting Stones will be central defender Ryan Royston, a pivotal figure in last season's promotion campaign, who joined Cray in the summer. Tonight's tie kicks off at 7.45pm.
