Teenage boy arrested after spate of flashing incidents in Buckland Hill area of Maidstone

A 16-year-old boy arrested after a series of alleged flashing incidents around Maidstone has been bailed.

Last week, two secondary schools issued second warnings within the space of a week after an 11-year-old was flashed at on her way to school.

The incident happened on Friday morning close to the snooker club at the bottom of Buckland Hill.

It is a route used by hundreds of youngsters to get between the town centre and the secondary schools in Buckland Road - Maidstone Grammar School for Girls and the Maplesden Noakes School.

A year 7 pupil from Maidstone Grammar School for Girls was caught up in the incident prompting a police investigation and an increase in patrols around the area.

The reports come a week after details of similar incidents emerged.

Pupils reported being flashed at in an alleyway running behind the two schools and leading to Allington on Monday, September 7 and Wednesday, September 16.

Another incident in Whatman Park on September 8 - a Tuesday - was also relayed to police.

Police are reminding parents and guardians of the importance of ensuring children are vigilant and report any suspicious activity.

Officers have also asked any youngsters who witness further incidents to call 999 immediately.

The teenager has been bailed until Thursday, November 26.
