Simple Minds to play gig in Kent

Simple Minds are to play at Bedgebury Pinetum next year.

The band will play their greatest hits as part of the Forestry Commission’s Live Music season, and Bedgebury, near Goudhurst, is among the venues.

Their back catalogue includes classic songs such as Alive and Kicking, Sanctify Yourself, Don’t You (Forget About Me), Promised You A Miracle, Waterfront and Belfast Child.

Frontman Jim Kerr said: "We’ve never done the forest gigs before so we are really looking forward to performing in such beautiful places."

Starsailor front man James Walsh is the support act.

The gig at Bedgebury is on Friday, June 10.
