Probe continues into teenage clubber's death

POLICE are today still carrying out an investigation into the death of a young woman who died after collapsing at a Kent nightclub.

The 18-year-old died suddenly in the early hours of Saturday morning after collapsing at the ikon night spot in Maidstone’s Lockmeadow complex.

The woman, from the Folkestone area, was taken ill at the nightclub at about 1.40am.

Police and ambulance crews were called, but attempts to revive her both at the scene and afterwards at Maidstone Hospital failed. She has not yet been named.

Police said they were “investigating the circumstances of the sudden death”.

Staff at the club on Saturday declined to comment.
