Motorcyclist dies in crash in Tonbridge

A motorcylcist has died after a collision near Tonbridge.

The rider, from the Tonbridge area, was riding a Triumph motorcycle on Three Elm Lane, Golden Green, near Tonbridge, when he collided with a white Vauxhall Movano van.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The man’s family has been told. No further details are being released at this time.

The collision took place at about 8.15 pm on Monday, May 3. The road was closed while emergency services, including members of Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, dealt with the incident and reopened around 4.45am.

Police are also appealing for help after an incident on the northbound A21 between Tonbridge and Morleys roundabout at about 4.20pm on Monday, May 3.

Six vehicles, four motorcycles, a blue Citroen Saxo and a black Vauxhall Astra, were involved in a collision.

One motorcyclist suffered serious but not life threatening injuries and was taken to the Kent and Sussex Hospital.

His pillion passenger suffered serious injuries and she was taken by air ambulance to hospital in London where her condition today is said to be serious.
