Morris dancers fill town

acole@thekmgroup.co.uk

IT'S still three months to Christmas, but shoppers could have
been forgiven for thinking they heard the jingling of bells in
Maidstone town centre.

The noise was thanks to more than 200 morris
dancers
who converged on the County Town for the Morris
Federation's annual meeting and day of dance, hosted by the Kettle
Bridge Clogs.

It was the first time the Maidstone-based group had hosted the
event and it took almost a year to organise.

The day started with a mass dance and "meet and greet" outside
County Hall, led by foreman Val Deppe.
