Man in 20s taken to hospital with head injury after attack outside bar in Market Buildings in Maidstone

A man in his 20s has been taken to hospital with a head injury after being attacked outside a bar in a town centre.

Officers were called to Market Buildings in Maidstone at around 4am on Sunday to reports of a serious assault, believed to have involved a group of people.

The victim was found by officers at the top of Gabriel’s Hill and was taken to hospital.

Detective Inspector Robert Cox said: "We believe the man was injured during the disturbance in Market Buildings, near to the High Street and we know there was a large number of people in the area at the time that might have information to assist our enquiries.

"We understand at least two members of the public tried to assist him before he walked away from the scene along Earl Street, then via Week Street and up to Gabriel’s Hill where he was found.

"Whilst we continue to carry out enquiries in the area and review all CCTV opportunities, we urge any witnesses or anyone with information to contact us as soon as possible on 01622 604100 quoting reference 25-0252."
