Northfleet man charged after break-in at disused Maidstone pub

A man accused of breaking into a disused pub in Maidstone has been charged with burglary.

Community support officers were called to the boarded-up building, formerly known as The Pilot, on Upper Stone Street, at around 3.45pm on Wednesday, May 30, following reports of trespassing.

Police officers were sent to assist after an intruder was located inside and a man was subsequently arrested.

A number of items including picture frames were recovered from the scene and will be sent off for forensic analysis.

Craig McIntyre, 39 and of London Road, Northfleet was later charged with burglary.

He has been bailed to appear before Maidstone Magistrates’ Court on June 15.
