Firefighters extinguish roof fire in York Road, Maidstone

A man in his 20s was treated for smoke inhalation after fire broke out in the roof of a house.

Firefighters were called to the residential street in York Road, Maidstone at around 11.20pm last night.

Crews treated the man at the scene with oxygen before he was taken to hospital by paramedics.

Fortunately, there were no other injuries.

Police also attended and are currently carrying out an investigation into the cause of the fire.
