A fire broke out at a bungalow in the hours of this morning.

The blaze started in the roof of a home in Woodlands Road, Ditton, at about 2.20am.

Four pumps from Kent Fire and Rescue Service attended and managed to stop the flames from spreading to neighbouring properties.

Crews left the scene by 3.15am.

The homeowners escaped unharmed.

A fire spokesman said the incident is being investigated.
