Criminal damage in Lamberhurst

A memorial bench and a tree were damaged by vandals in Lamberhurst.

Police are investigating after the criminal damage was discovered at a golf club in Church Lane on Sunday, April 7.

Items damaged included a memorial tree, which was snapped in half; and a memorial bench, which was smashed and its brass plaque broken.

PCSO Laura Carey said: “To recklessly damage items that have been displayed in memory of others is particularly disrespectful. We would be very keen speak with anyone with any information about this offence so we can identify the offenders and speak to them about this incident.”
