The bully began the row in March at his then partner’s home in Wallis Avenue.

Prosecutor Feryal Ertam told Maidstone Crown Court: “The couple had been arguing all day. She said she would have left him but she felt sorry for him.”

During the exchanges McDaniel accused the ex-lover of being a liar and threatened her family.

McDaniel, who admitted charges of making threats to kill and assault, was asked repeatedly to leave the property but refused.

“I’m going to slit your throat, ruin your life and kill your loved ones...”

Ms Ertam told how after grabbing a knife he told her: “I’m going to kill you” before the weapon fell to the ground cutting her foot.

He also threatened: “I’m going to slit your throat, ruin your life and kill your loved ones.”

Eventually one of her children fled to the bedroom and pleaded with a friend through Facebook for them to contact the police.

McDaniel was jailed for a total of 44 months.
