Carlo Collins' death in Middlesex Road, Maidstone is no longer being treated as suspicious

Two people arrested over the death of a Shepway father have been released without charge.

Carlo Collins, 46, was found dead in his home in Middlesex Road, Maidstone on March 11 by a friend.

A man and a woman were arrested in connection to the death of the dad-of-one and an inquest into his death was opened last month.

A police spokesman said both have been cleared and the death is no longer being treated as suspicious.

A coroner heard Mr Collins choked to death on his own vomit along with a mix of respiratory depressant medication. He also had subendocardial fibrosis – a heart disorder.

Mr Collins, who was unemployed and a former pupil at Maidstone’s St Simon Stock Catholic School, was described as “the life and soul” of the party by niece Chloe Palmer. His death came two weeks after his sister Angela died from breast cancer.

The full inquest is set to take place on May 31.
